ABOUT DESTINATION: DEERFOOT CITY

Deerfoot City is a master-planned retail destination which is currently under redevelopment. The 1.1 million sq. foot transformation will include purposefully designed shopping, dining, and entertainment zones. ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Regional Marketing Manager, the Seasonal Guest Experience Senior Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the Guest Experience team at Destination: Deerfoot City during the Holiday Season. This role ensures the team consistently delivers exceptional service and meets established standards, while regularly reporting updates, successes, and concerns to the Regional Marketing Manager. The Senior Team Lead will provide hands-on leadership, supporting the team in creating memorable guest experiences and fostering a welcoming environment. In addition, this position will work closely with the marketing team to help execute seasonal programming and activations that bring the holiday spirit to life.   

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of personnel management for the Guest Experience team, including hiring support, training, mentoring, coaching, scheduling, and performance management for the Santa Program
  • Oversee daily operations of the Santa Program, ensuring smooth execution from guest flow to service standards, while maintaining a clean, welcoming, and festive environment
  • Host, set up, and take down holiday programming and activations, ensuring all elements are delivered to a high standard
  • Partner with the marketing team to create engaging environments that capture attention, increase exposure, and attract both new and returning guests to the Santa Program
  • Support the Photography team with Santa Photos, including guest greeting and check-in, appointment management, onsite printing, photo distribution, and delivery of surprise-and-delight moments (e.g., candy canes)
  • Manage the online reservation system for Santa Photo bookings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Track and manage inventory of supplies, notifying management when replenishment is required
  • Empower and motivate the Guest Experience team through positive recognition, celebrating successes, and fostering a culture of excellence
  • Assist in preparing the post-season wrap-up report, highlighting successes, challenges, and key learnings to inform future programming

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and relationship building
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and task efficiency
  • Energetic, positive, and able to inspire both team members and guests
  • Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Required Training and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role
  • Proven experience leading and motivating a team
  • Background in retail or hospitality preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace; comfortable working with computer systems. Experience with Adobe Lightroom considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Hourly wage: $20.00-22.00/hour
  • Start and End date: October 20, 2025 – January 9, 2026
